RachelRambach

I'm Rachel. I like to write about my life, which is full of joy and love. Hence the title of my blog.

Things that bring me joy and love: music, family, work, play, travel, home, internet. It's all here, friends.

WHITEOUT

Rachel Rambach

There isn’t anywhere, I have to go.
So let’s stay home, and watch the snow,
Fallin’, like I fell in love with you.

There isn’t anyplace, I have to be.
And you, you’re sitting next to me,
Smilin’, as our eyes enjoy the view.

White out, so bright out,
And all that I can see,
Is the snow, watchin’ it blow,
Knowing you’re in love with me.
I’m warm and cozy in this sweater,
But your arms are even better.
In this white out, let’s hide out,
Just stay.

I don’t have no plans tonight,
The air is cold, the lights are bright,
Twinklin’, through the snow that’s coming down.

I don’t have no friends to see,
‘Cause you’re right here, that’s all I need,
Chillin’, like the white stuff on the ground.

CHORUS (2x)

Daughters of Industry

Recognize the voice? I thought so :) ”False Memory” is just one of the many stunning tracks on which you can hear me, along with the genius of Joe Frawley and Greg Conte. Listen (and download!) the rest of Daughters of Industry by the Joe Frawley Ensemble HERE.

Tonight I’m going to see Kelly Clarkson at the state fair, and I’m sooo excited!! However, my excitement is nothing compared to that of my dad, who is Kelly’s #1 fan. Should be a fun night!

Working on overcoming my fear of the camera. Exposure is the best way to do that, right?

A little different from everything else I’ve written, but I’m kind of digging it. This one’s called “Get Out of My Head” and I hope you like it too.

Once in a while I see your face
And I try, but I can’t look away.
Once in a while I hear your voice
Beckoning me to stay
Get out, get out,
Get out of my head.

Once in a while I feel your touch
I’m on fire, all over again.
Once in a while I taste your kiss
All I want, is for it to end
Get out, get out,
Get out of my head.

Get out of my head,
Is this a sickness?
Get out of my head,
Is this a curse?
Get out of my head,
You’ve made your point
Don’t make it worse,
The damage is done,
Your fatal poison has been fed,
Get out of my head.

Once in a while I say your name
And it’s then I remember why
I can’t go a day where the thought of you
Does anything but make me cry.
Get out, get out,
Get out of my head.

CHORUS

I’m not gonna take the blame for your twisted game,
Oh no.
And you’re not gonna tear me down this time around,

CHORUS

Once in a while I see your face
And I try, but I can’t look away.

Allison Weiss is awesome. Even though I don’t really condone posting videos while driving. While someone else is driving, yes. :D Looking forward to her tour videos.

I have to second the fact that Allison Weiss is awesome. I found her on the internet and now she’s everywhere I look. Seriously, this girl practically owns the internet. She is a totally DIY musician and is basically living the dream, getting famous and playing her songs all over the country.

This Jason Mraz CD - Live at Java Joes - is the reason I started playing the guitar. Way back in 2002, I heard “The Remedy” on the radio and immediately went out and bought Waiting For My Rocket to Come. I listened to those 12 songs on repeat that entire summer, and was still listening when I got back to school in August. A friend told me about Live at Java Joes, which I ordered and immediately fell in love with.
That CD was the soundtrack to my last semester of college. I wanted to be able to sing and play the way Jason Mraz did, even though I’d never picked up a guitar. My mom bought one for me as an early graduation present, and I haven’t stopped playing since.
I could talk a lot more about Jason Mraz and the influence he’s had on me as a musician. Or just on my life in general. And rest assured, I will.

This song has my dad’s approval so it must be okay. It’s called Brand New and I wrote it early one morning when I was hopped up on caffeine (what else is new). You can download it for free in the left sidebar.

My alarm clock rings,
And the birdie sings,
I roll out of bed
And do the same old morning things.

Get into the car,
Can’t believe I’ve made it quite this far,
I’m not gonna shoot an ace, but I can hope to
Come in under par.

I’m just getting through the day
So I can get to the night,
When I’m with you, got nothing to do,
That’s when I feel all right,

My problems seem to slip away,
And somehow it’s okay
When I crawl into bed with you
I know I’ll wake up brand new.

Yea, I’m a mess,
Could be worse, I guess
At least I’m coming home
Please baby, strip me of this stress.

I drink a glass of wine,
While you tell me I’ll be fine.
Eventually things will change
But I’d appreciate a sign.

CHORUS

You’re next to me, you keep me sane,
You’re the reason I’m still on this train
No telling what tomorrow brings
(Like dreams come true or diamond rings)
When I wake up to the song that the birdie sings:

CHORUS
