Zach planned an anniversary weekend in St. Louis, and it was fabulous. I have the best, most thoughtful husband ever. We stayed at the Ritz (the site of our engagement) and did all kinds of cute things like eating our year-old wedding cake - which still tasted good! - and visiting the Botanical Gardens, the City Musuem, and lots of yummy eateries. This is us on our anniversary night (8/8/09) toasting to an amazing first year of marriage.

Tonight I’m going to see Kelly Clarkson at the state fair, and I’m sooo excited!! However, my excitement is nothing compared to that of my dad, who is Kelly’s #1 fan. Should be a fun night!

Blah.

I have been a horrible blogger of late. Mostly because I don’t have much to blog about, sad as that is. This summer has basically consisted of working, taking care of the dog, laundry, wash, rinse, repeat. Compared to last summer - jetting off to Vegas, getting married, vacationing in St. Lucia - this summer is not even in the same league. No big trips, no life-changing events; just blah.

Which is what this post has become, so I’m going to stop writing. And do something quite unexciting, I’m sure.

I saw this commercial for the first time today, and it made me smile. Summer always makes me think of Baskin Robbins. I spent two entire summers there, scooping ice cream (and gaining a giant left bicep - thanks, Butter Pecan). I have great memories from my time at BR, as we called it; all of my best friends worked there too and I can only guess how many scoops of Rainbow Sherbet, cups of gummy bears, and ounces of Mountain Dew I consumed in those months. It really is a wonder that I stayed relatively thin working there. Sometimes I miss being sixteen and not having anything to do all summer besides hanging out at the pool by day and decorating cakes by night.

Welcome to my first tumblr post. I need to start by telling you that I really love summer. If the weather was nicer, I would be doing just this right now, but it’s not so I am having a date with the internet.
